TCLA's Crash Course
Understanding the City, Legal Technology and Mergers & Acquisitions!
TCLA’s Crash Course was an intensive one-day training event designed to help you secure a training contract. We gathered talented people across the profession to provide a crash course into mergers and acquisitions, legal technology and the role of lawyers in the City.
For those of you who couldn't make the event, we are delighted to make the following sessions available for Gold Members (sign up here):
Legal Technology Crash Course, Alistair Wye
Alistair works cross-functionally with a global team of lawyers and technologists to identify, develop and validate strategic innovation opportunities across his firm. Prior to re-entering private practice, Alistair created and led iManage RAVN’s presales operations advising on product strategy, working with top global law firms and FTSE 100 in-house legal teams to design and implement AI powered data extraction tools for due diligence and contract reporting. Before moving into legaltech, Alistair began his career as a banking lawyer – primarily focused on leveraged finance – working at Latham & Watkins, Ashurst and Deutsche Bank.
In this course, you'll develop your understanding of: what is legal technology, understand how legal technology has developed over time, explore real legal technology used by law firms, and watch Alistair walk through a series of applications and interview topics.
Mastering Interviews, Arun Sohan-Pall
Arun is a future trainee at Kirkland & Ellis. He completed five vacation schemes at leading international firms and converted all of them into training contract offers.
This talk was voted the favourite at TCLA's Crash Course. You'll learn how to map out your examples to competency questions, how to present yourself at interviews, how to frame your answers to 'why commercial law?', how to answer case study questions, and so much more!
